Construction change order calculator and printable request

Build a priced scope change from labor and materials, show schedule impact, and print a client-facing request before work starts.

Price the change

Gross margin and markup are different: price = estimated cost ÷ (1 − target margin). All numbers are editable assumptions.

Estimated impact

Direct cost—
Quoted change price—
Gross profit after modeled overhead—
Schedule extension—

Print-ready change request

A quote is not an approval. Confirm contract terms, sales tax, permit requirements and written customer authorization before starting changed work.

What is a construction change order?

A change order documents work that was not included in the original agreement. The most useful request tells the client what changed, the estimated additional cost, the expected effect on the schedule and whether the work is approved. This free tool separates direct cost, overhead and target gross margin so small contractors can see how a quote was calculated.

Enter your own loaded labor cost, material allowance and subcontractor expenses. Print the summary and ask the client to approve it using your normal signed contract process. This is an estimating worksheet, not an electronic signature or payment system.
